Smashbox, will you be my Valentine?

Happy Valentine's Day Dolls! No matter if you have a boo or not, Valentine's is a time to love yourself! Always remember that! My mother, who will always be my Valentine even though I actually had one last year and this year (love you babe!), always gets me the best gifts! My junior year in high school I got a car. Ok, well I just happened to get my car on Valentine's day but it was still a great gift! Who cared if I didn't have boyfriend at 16, I had a car! LOL But I digress. This year, my mother gave me the gift of glam. (Not that I needed anymore!) I got two Smashbox makeup kits! And they are fabulous! I got the Picture Perfect Beauty Kit sold exclusively at Ulta and the Try Me Kit as pictured. The Picture Perfect kit includes a cream eyeliner duo glides on so smooth, a highligher duo that doubles as a great cream blush, a lip pencil and a mini lip gloss in the perfect shade of "brust"! (FYI, the actual shade is vintage, try it! It's divine!)
The Try Me kit is equally fabulous containing Smashbox's highly coveted photo finish foundation primer that leaves your skin velvety soft, photo op under eye brightner that works great as eyeshadow for the "natural look", a clear lip enhancing gloss that is super moisterizing, a brow tech & cream eyeliner palette packaged in a portable compact. Both kits are everything a glam girl needs for a "I'm ready for my close up" look to "what? I always wake up this fabulous face". I definately walked out of my house this morning ready for paps to take my picture. None showed. Maybe they forgot my address? Oh, well maybe next time! Stay glam girls! XOXO

Fashion homicide?

We all have that one favorite thing we love to wear, be it a jacket or belt, we just can't live without it. For me, that item is the grey temper boot from Alloy. How ever cheesy or cliche it might sound, it was love at first sight. (laughs out very loudly) Ok not really, but I did have a very strong affinity towards them. I asked for them as a birthday present and was pleasantly surprised when I opened the box. Now, 4 months later, the boots have met their untimely demise. Yes, it is true, I have worn them to death! I don't know, I can't help it! They are just soo cute and grey is the it color and they look great with everything and I always get tons of compliments when I wear them! Is it really bad to wear something to death if it's fashionable? I mean, the real crime would be if I wore crocs or uggs to death right? (shrudders at the thought) Well, I confess... I wore those boots today and quite possibly might wear them tomorrow. Excuse me as I look for new pair of shoes to kill for the spring/summer. Stay glam girls! XOXO

Deliciously tacky yet still glam!

I love thoughtful friends! Especially those with style! My dear, thoughtful and stylish friend Kisten got me the cutest ring ever! It's huge and asymmetrical though still keeping with the oversized ring trend. It's almost candy-like with the color, what I like to call "deliciously tacky" but still the cutest thing ever! Plus the box that it comes in is some kind of adorable! If you too want to be deliciously tacky yet still glam, go to http://www.uniquelydodies.com/. The rings come in a variety of colors and sizes (I have the purple one) and at $5, it's also deliciously affordable! Stay Glam girls! XOXO

What's your fashion signature?

Signatures are more than your name scribbled next to an X. You can have a signature fragrance, a signature dish, or signature dance move so why not have a signature fashion accessory? As part of my 2008 fashion resolutions, my resolution is to have a signature fashion accessory, that accessory being a silk scarf. I don't know wear my obession with silk scarves began, maybe I was watching something and saw someone wear one and I fell in love with it! Crazy! They're just soo classy and sophisticated. Not to mention they can dress up any outfit and can be worn so many different ways: around the neck, as a headband, as a neck tie, or as charming tie around your purse.
My boyfriend and I went shopping in Destin on New Years at this huge outlet mall. I went to the Coach outlet and got a super cute silk scarf for only $34! 50% off of the original price, I couldn't pass it up plus it's soo pretty! Stay glam girls! XOXO

In 08, it's great to be Glam!

Happy New Year Dolls! My holidays were great and I did soo much shopping! I went home for Christmas and it was lovely. Good home cooking and family not to mention, shopping! My hometown is coming up, getting new stores like Steve & Barry's and Ulta. I had been dying to get to Steve & Barry's after hearing about Sarah Jessica Parker's clothing line. Everything is under $20! Who can beat that! Plus, I was dying to get this houndstooth coat. However, in my hometown, you can't go to anything new for about 6 months because people act like they've never been anywhere! This was exactly the case! The store was only open a week or two before I came home and EVERYTHING WAS GONE! I mean everything was picked over! It was ridiculous! I did manage to come away with the dress from Project Runway designed exclusively SJP's Bitten line. And get this, it was only $8!!! Actually, everything was in the store was $8 that's why everything was gone. But I love my dress! I wore it on Christmas and got soo many compliments. I also went to Ulta which is like a mini Sephora. I was in heaven! Stila, Smashbox, Juicy Couture, Oh My! LOL It was great!
For New Year's, my boyfriend and I went to Destin. I was fun and a much needed getaway. We went to a resort and had drinks watched the fireworks at Midnight. Sigh, so romantic! On New Year's day, we went shopping! Destin has biggest outlet of designer stores and we took full advantage! Michael Kors, Cole Haan, BCBG MaxAzria, I could go on! I got the cutest dress from BCBG, a pair of ballet flats from Guess, and a silk scarf from Coach. Now, I'm broke! But I'll be glam in 08! Stay glam girls! XOXO

You never forget your first...spa treatment that is!

As I've stated in my last post, I'm more than elated to be done with school with this semester. So much so , that I decided to treat myself with a spa day! Actually, my boyfriend gave me a gift certificate for Valentine's Day and I'm just now getting around to using it. (I told you it's been a crazy, hectic semester!) So on Wednesday, I got up for my 10am (I was sooo not happy about getting up that early for spa treatment but that is neither here nor there) appointment for a facial, a manicure and a deep tissue massage. My first spa day! The facial was divine! I don't think my skin has ever felt or looked so good! I can't tell you what was put on my face but my skin was moisturized, exfoliated, and steamed and it felt lovely!
Next came the manicure. Now just to give you some background, the only manicures I'm used to are the kind where they push back your cuticles, buff and file your nails, then paint them. Needless to say, I was totally surprised when I got somewhat of facial for my hands. My hands were baby soft and my nails look great. I am soo in love with my nail color that it's ridiculous! I know the picture is small but this is a swatch of my lovely nail color, cleverly named chilled champagne. It's the perfect neutral color, not too pink yet not too brown and not to mention it looks perfect against my mocha complexion!
A deep tissue massage ended my pleasant spa day. I'll be honest, it wasn't as relaxing as I thought it would be. Maybe because I'm a tiny person and I don't really have that much tissue to get deep with but at times it was a little uncomfortable, yet still relaxing. I left feeling refreshed and rejuvenated and a little spoiled!

In the "tight" frame of mind

This semester is over! Woo Hoo! One more semester left until I graduate, I can't wait! With school being out for Christmas break, it's time to break out all the great winter accessories such as hats, gloves, scarves and tights! I'm so in love with the tight trend this year! Tights are the perfect way to spice up a suit or wear those skirts and dresses long into winter. Also, if you live in Florida like me and the weather is still 75 degrees (!) you can bring a wintery feel to your ensemble. Bright bold colors are really in this season. Don't be scared to rock a pair of tights in blue, the key to wearing bright tights (lol it rhymes! I'm such a kid!) is to keep the rest of your accessories simple and muted. If bold colors are not your thing, trade in your pantyhose for black, brown or navy tights in cute patterns such as diamonds or cable knit. Not to mention, tights are a great way to seasonally update your wardrobe without breaking the bank! Try these tights on for size: Forever 21, Abigail Texture Tight, $6.80
available in black

Forever 21, Houndstooth Print Tight, $6.80

available in black and brown

Express, Full Solid Tight, $14.50

available in blue, purple and black

Spanx, Patterened Tight End Tights, $28

available in black, chocolate and smoke in chain, diamond, chevron and petal patterns
(I have these in black diamond and looove them!)

Stay Glam girls! XOXO
