Never Can Say Goodbye...

I honestly am at a loss for words. Michael Jackson has passed away. Say what you want about his life choices, he was a great artist and an amazing performer and his music has influenced us all. ::tear:: (I have narrowed down my favorite MJ songs to "Human Nature" and "Wanna Be Startin Somethin") Looking at all the tributes to Michael, I decided to do my own personal tribute...through fashion of course! Throughout his career, he stuck to simple wardrobe formula: Skinny pants, an embellished jacket, white socks and black loafers. Channel your inner King of Pop with these great picks.

This Chris Benz Sergeant Jacket is very MJ circa 1993. $497.50, Shopbop.com

If this Silence & Noise Satellite Moto Jacket doesn't "Scream" "Beat It", I don't know what does. (Yeah, that was cheesy lol) $128, Urban Outfitters

You too can be a "Smooth Criminal" with this zebra trim fedora. $9.80, Forever 21

Oscar? Bvlgari? Is that you?!?

Being the smart fashionista that I am, (in this economy, also known as, Ressionista) I did some perusing at T J Maxx. As usual I came across the super cute BCBG, Steve Madden and Anne Klein shoes. However, I was totally taken aback when I stumbled upon a Bvlgari purse for $299.99 Yes, this is still WAAAY out of my price range, but considering that a Bvlgari purse is regularly priced at a couple thousand, $300 is a steal! (For those who can afford it) Now what definitely blew my mind, was an Oscar de la Renta silk scarf for...wait for it... $16.99!!! Yes, you read that correctly, Oscar de la Renta for $16.99!!! Has the world gone mad or are the fashion gods rewarding us for being smart shoppers? Hmm... I'll go with the latter! Stay Glam Girls! XOXO

Don't Call It A Comeback...

Happy 2009! It's a new year dolls and you know what that means, more fabulosity and more posts! (hopefully) Any who, since we're starting fresh, I couldn't think of a better time to discuss my new beauty find. So it's not new, but it will definitely make your face feel fresh and new! It's Noxema! (Yes, that Noxema) It's the same tingly, menthol fresh cream cleanser that your parents used in their time of teenage angst. Don't sleep on it though. In a time where everyone wants things to be newer, faster, better, antioxidant rich, anti-aging, and environmentally-friendly, sometimes the old classics still prevail. I decided to try Noxema when my beloved Biore betrayed me by continuously changing it's formula, leaving my skin deathly dry then 20 minutes later, oilier than 2 day old chicken grease. Noxema's cream cleanser leaves my skin clean, moisturized, and not an oil slick in sight! Not to mention it's priced at a recession friendly $3.59! Loves it! Stay Glam Girls! XOXO

Most Likely to Appear on Glamour.com...

When I was in high school, me and my really good friend were nominated for the Senior Superlative, Best Dressed. Me, being the good friend that I am, didn't vote for myself. I voted for my friend. She won and will eternally be known as CHS Class of 2004 Best Dressed girl. No biggie. So imagine my surprise when I check my email today and see that I was selected as today's best dressed reader on Glamour's Slaves to Fashion blog! Soo much better than a Senior Superlative! Don't you agree? Stay glam girls! XOXO

My President is Black and My First Lady Wears H&M. Loves it.

Barack Obama was elected as the 44th President of the United States last night. It was truly a historical moment. I'm still crying tears of joy! It's so uplifting to finally see change in this country and for it to be led by a black man...well, that's just the icing on the cake. I woke up this morning smiling. Such a joyous occasion! Now, on to business. Not only do we have a black president, but we also have the most fabulous and glamorous First Family in the White House! I absolutely adore Michelle Obama and had the opportunity to see her speak in person and she is just as fabulous in person as she is on tv and in magazines. Not only is she brilliant, but she shops at H&M and the Gap! Gotta love that! Ready or not America, Change is coming!

The Pomp and the Circumstance

Hello dolls! So sorry for the long hiatus but I'm within good reason! I've been focusing all of my time and energy on my school work the past couple of months and now I'm graduating on Sunday! And not just graduating, but graduating summa cum laude! (I'm not only beautiful, but brilliant too! LOL) Now that the hard stuff like college is done, I have even bigger problems like what am I going to wear to graduation??? In high school, we were required to wear white dresses to graduation which was like trying to find a needle in haystack. Four years ago white dresses weren't exactly the springtime item du jour. Now, we don't have a requirement which in a way made my search harder. What is the look I'm going for? Something that says I'm an adult, I'm sophisticated, I'm fabulous. And where is this fabulous dress you say? Ann Taylor! My dress is a black halter with white diamond shapes throughout the dress. What is more important is that it was on sale! Originally priced at $168, I got it for the low, low price of...$59.99! :0 (Yes! It's true!) Unfortunately, I couldn't find a picture of the dress online but I do have other similar dresses if you also trying to captivate that look.

Floral Swirl Print Dress, $99.99, Ann Taylor

Brushstroke Floral Dress, $59.99, Ann Taylor

Ombre Bubble Dress, $99.99, White House/Black Market

(Love this one!)

Idyllic Island Dress, $138, White House/Black Market

I just realized that all these dresses were black and white, but they're all so cute and sophisticated! They're super appropriate for a graduation as well as those accompanying events ie, receptions, award ceremonies, brunches, teas, etc. Well, I'm off to revel after 4 long years of hard work! Stay glam girls! XOXO
